Hi Michele, I'm back! Well, we made it back and had a fantastic time. Every trip tends to bring new insite to what the country is about. It is clearly changing fast and is having a hard time keeping up with itself. Houses and housing developments are starting to pop up everywhere, even in some amazingly remote areas.
I'm working on a complete trip report, but just wanted to stop in and say hi and thank you for your help. I did stay at Tahilla Cove, and I really enjoyed it. I'll give you a complete report soon.
Glad to hear you are home in one piece and that you enjoyed your trip. It was my pleasure helping out a little by answering some questions about your trip. If it in any way made your trip better then that's what this forum is all about.
You're right that Ireland is changing fast. My husband and I were just reminiscing about doing the Ring of Kerry back in 1973 and passing only a couple of cars the whole time. Back then many people used bicycles or walked. The farmers used to take the milk to the dairy in a metal milk can on the back of a donkey-drawn cart. Back then everyone waved as you went by. You still get the waves in some of the remoter parts of Ireland but not like back then.
We will wait anxiously for your complete report. Thanks for checking back in with the forum!
