My mom and I spent two weeks in Ireland, September 1-16, 2011, and I kept a travel journal sketchbook the entire time - over 50 pages of travelogue, watercolor sketches, and collage. I thought some of you might enjoy seeing Ireland through an artist's eyes. I can't quite figure out how to insert a link into this post, but you can simply go to my blog: www.lesliefehling.com
Look in the blog archives for December 2011 and you'll see all the "Sketchbook Journeys - Ireland" posts. Click on each one to open. Or do a search for Ireland on my blog and it will bring up all the related posts.
Right after we returned from our trip, I did a series of posts with photos and commentary about our trip. To see those, look in the blog archive for October 2011.
I hope you enjoy reading about our trip, and I also hope it will aid other people in choosing what to see and do in Ireland and Northern Ireland. This forum was a great source of information for me when planning our trip, and I want to return the favor.
Leslie, what a wonderful and lovely treat to see your sketches. Your talent has truly made Ireland to be the warm and amazing place that it is. You are gifted, and thank you for sharing your touch from God. By the way, your outlook on life, as described in your profile, is a message to everyone. It's an inspiration and a beautiful view of the life we all have. Thanks. JohnT
That is a fantastic journal. So many times I realize that photographs don't always get the essence of what I am actually seeing. What you see and what you SEE are two different things. Thanks so much for posting your journal here.
